Ms. Talbot's 2nd grade class is starting seeds for home gardens. Each student and teacher in the elementary will receive a tomato plant, basil plant or a pepper plant to take home and take care of over the summer. If any parents garden, we would like to hear from you in a letter what your grow and what you think is the best thing to grow in Crosbyton. Ms. Talbot thinks peppers, okra, squash, pumpkins (also a squash) and black-eyed peas are the easiest to grow in Lubbock County.

Congratulations to these FABULOUS PAX Leaders!

Jayden may be small, but she is one mighty Brave! She does not back down from a challenge and will persevere until she conquers the task before her. Her bright smile is sure to capture your heart and her willingness to serve warms the heart! Jayden is usually the first to jump out of her chair to help a friend in need, I just love that about her. She does an amazing job being station manager. She makes sure her station has all their supplies and organizes the activities for her team. Jayden soared with her MAPS data. I'm proud of this powerhouse PAX leader!

Selena is one phenomenal PAX leader! She leads, by example, in all areas of school. In the classroom she is always prepared with all her supplies ready to do her work. Although she is shy, she is not afraid to ask questions or ask for clarity. Selena is a good friend and someone you can depend on without a shadow of a doubt. Selena is a rock star in that she met her reading and language arts MAPS goal. She has blossomed this school year and I’m super proud of Selena!

Kate is one funny girl. She smiles no matter what and I just love that about her. Her tenacity in tackling skills and goals is something to be proud of. Reaching and meeting her reading and language arts MAPS goal was perfectly met. She is an exemplary example of a PAX leader. While she was out showing her steer, she never missed a beat in the classroom. She made sure all her work was taken care of and never complained. I’m so proud of Kate in and out of the livestock showing arena!

Bailey, I am so proud of you for leveling up on your Mind Play reading level! All the hard work you have been putting in is truly showing. Keep growing and shining, sweet girl, you’re doing amazing!

Rene, you may be quiet, but your personality is truly a joy to be around! You have shown so much growth, and seeing you reach three levels above grade level is amazing. Keep it up!

Jayce, thank you for always being ready to help out from small tasks to big ones! Watching you help others is truly amazing, and it shows what a kind and dependable leader you are. Keep on being The rockstar that you are !

Robert, during Mind Play time you have really stepped up and showed up! Watching you take notes and look through your resources shows that you are truly striving for improvement. Your effort and focus do not go unnoticed keep up the amazing work. I’m so proud of you!

Jeslynn, this week you have truly shown so much growth in being a PAX Leader! I am so proud of you for the responsibility and leadership you are showing every day. From walking quietly in the halls to staying on task in the classroom, you are setting a great example for others to follow. Your hard work, positive choices, and leadership do not go unnoticed keep up the amazing work!

She comes to class everyday ready to learn and always has one of the best smiles on her face! I love watching her reach all of her reading goals and I love that she wants to read to me! Keep up the good work Ava!

Congratulations to these rockstar PAX Leaders!

Griffynn is one special team player on and off the court. When a friend is in need, you can count on her to be there. Her fighting spirit has helped her accomplish so much this school year, including meeting her reading and language arts MAPS goals. Her penmanship, spelling, and writing skills are something to be proud of. Griffynn has a BIG heart. I have seen her literally hold a friend’s hand to offer comfort and support during a difficult time. She is a PAX leader through and through. Excellent job Griffy, I’m super proud of you!!!

Wyatt without an “e” at the end of his name is one phenomenal scholar! ( I will get it right one of these days Wyatt.) His smile is certain to brighten a room and his tenacity to tackle problems is the name of his game. On occasion when he feels a challenge coming on, he starts to attempt to negotiate extra credit assignments, but he knows the answer to that question and the expectation. He always rises to the challenge. Wyatt has a funny sense of humor and sees the beauty of bringing humor to the classroom just for fun. I love that about you Wyatt….keep it up PAX leader!

Kamdyn is one diligent purple pupil. If you don’t hear her when you walk in the classroom room, it’s because she is busy going above and beyond what is expected of her. She is meticulous when it comes to paying attention to detail in the assignments set before her. This super star not only reached her reading MAPS goal but grew by 25 points! WOW, what a phenomenal job! As a teacher and a grandmother, I’m super proud of you Kamdyn PAX leader!!!

Jake is one super spectacular scholar! Meeting his MAPS and STAAR Benchmark goals are out of this world! His penmanship, spelling, grammar and writing techniques are exquisite. I thoroughly enjoy the one-on-one conversations Jake and I share. His love for reading is a beautiful thing to see and a normal part of his life with reading chapter books every moment he can escape. Jake has grit and perseverance when it comes to reaching goals and challenges. He thrives daily on his thirst for knowledge which brings wonder and excitement into the classroom! Kudos to you Jake for a job well done and for being an exemplary PAX leader!!!

Koltyn has been making great strides in Math, and knows all his math facts. He is adding 3 digit numbers. His reading is also improving and he loves to see how he is growing in all his subjects. He loves working on Science and Technology. He is truly a great PAX student to have and works hard for Ms. Talbot daily.

Jonah is a whizz at working math problems in his head. He gets the top score on Kahoot reviews using mental math. He reads really well and works hard to answer questions. He plays well with others outside and enjoys telling wild stories when he is writing. He is a top notch PAX student.

Sofia is like a ninja student, she is quiet but packs a punch when she does answer questions. She is showing great strides in math and reading. She is caring for her friends and does nice little things for Ms. Talbot like drawing pictures and giving stickers. She works hard in class and is quiet even when she is talking to others in class. She is very artistic and enjoys all our art activities. She is a good Pax Leader.

Julian is so kindhearted and always ready to work when he comes to my classroom! He is rocking math and has shown so much growth already! He always has a smile on his face and is having fun while learning! Thank you for rocking PAX and being a leader!
