Congratulations to our Chiefs and Chiefettes who competed at the District Track Meet in Petersburg yesterday.
While 3rd and 4th were testing, 5th graders made their own anchor charts for 5th science vocabulary and processes!
It's time for our annual Chalk the Walk!
Don't forget to come out tonight and chalk the walk for STAAR! Chalk will be set out at 4pm this afternoon.
If you have a 3rd, 4th, or 5th grader taking a STAAR test this week, come out and decorate a square! We have a few squares already started. Students will walk the chalk sidewalk before testing tomorrow and Thursday to read your motivational messages!
Important testing information:
We start STAAR Testing this week so it is time for our Annual Chalk the Walk! Our Reading Tests are this week so if you have a 3rd, 4th, or 5th grader and you want to come decorate a chalk square for them at the Elementary School, please do! They will walk the chalk sidewalk the morning before their tests. We have some chalk set out today for any who want to get a head start, and we will set out more tomorrow before tests begin on Wednesday!

Parent Reminder:
We encourage all students to remain at school for the full day, as we still have important learning and review planned. Our 3rd–5th graders are currently in STAAR Boot Camp and working hard to earn their ranks toward mastery.
If you choose to check your student out after their hunt, please do so through the front office using the main entrance.

Reading STAAR boot camp is under way! 4th graders are being detectives while searching for Author's purpose and figurative language in a short story.
We have nearly 3000 eggs ready to go for our Easter Egg Hunts on Thursday!!
Thanks to our amazing staff for stopping in during their off periods/lunch, egg donations from community members, the district for providing treats/candy for eggs, and the elementary Principal's Cabinet for staying after school and helping stuff eggs!

Pre-K has been learning about insects! Last week they talked about bees! They got to act as honeybees taking nectar from flowers & back to the hive to make honey! 🍯
