All Crosbyton CISD Schools will be in Remote Learning on Monday, January 11th.
Elementary School students received their assignments on Friday, January 8th.
Secondary School parents will receive a text message at 8:00 am tomorrow with an assignment.
All work for both Elementary and Secondary School students must be completed and returned to school when we go back to face-to-face instruction in order to receive attendance credit for the day.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to your campus principal via email.

Should Crosbyton ISD be required to cancel in-person classes due to inclement weather on Monday, January 11, the district will transition to a remote learning plan during the closure. This will prevent students from having to make up a pre-scheduled weather holiday.
A remote learning plan means that students MUST participate in online/remote learning activities by:
* checking in to their Google Classroom to access assignments, and/or completing paper packets;
* having contact with their teacher via online portals; and/or
* submitting completed assignments.
In anticipation of this possibility, elementary students will be bringing home paper packets Friday afternoon. If a student is absent today and therefore cannot take their packet home, parents or other family members are welcome to pick up packets from the office before the close of school today.
Secondary students will receive a text message Monday morning that details their assignments, and should take the needed school supplies home with them on Friday to complete written assignments.
If cancellation becomes necessary, students must bring all assignments back to school when in-person classes resume.
In the event in-person classes are canceled, student participation is expected in order for students to avoid being counted absent.
If inclement weather calls for a delay rather than a cancellation, in-person classes will proceed on a late-start schedule.
Decisions in regard to delay or cancellation will be made as early as possible with the hopes of minimizing disruption to student and family schedules. School administrators consider all available information prior to making a decision.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation; please stay safe and warm!

Friday's Crosbyton vs. Lorenzo basketball games have been rescheduled for Saturday morning. The JV girls game will start at 11:00, followed by the varsity girls and boys. All games will be played in the CHS gym.

To recover some of the time lost during the ice storm and the extended Thanksgiving holiday, the half day scheduled on December 18th will now be a full day of instruction, with school dismissing at the regular time.

A message from Ms. Rummel music teacher:
Hello Parent/Guardian!
It’s been a crazy year, but elementary has done an amazing job learning everything they can about music! Every student has worked hard to make this year’s Christmas program the best it can be by learning all their motions, singing beautifully and playing their instruments to the best of their abilities. Unfortunately, due to the safety concerns caused by COVID-19, in an effort to keep everyone as safe as possible the school will not be able to host a live event. However, the school will record and post each grade level on Facebook, so that you and your family can enjoy your child’s performance and see how much they’ve grown musically this semester. On December 15th, Pre-k through 3rd will be recording their program. For 4th and 5th grade, their recording will be on December 17th. Please wear either Sunday best or something festive.
I would like to thank you for the privilege of working with your child this year. Each one has been a joy to work with and I have learned so much from them. Thank you for supporting your child and their musical growth!
Michaela Rummel - Music teacher

Good afternoon elementary parent/guardians,
Just a reminder that all 4th graders are allowed to return to school on Friday the 4th.
Thank you,
Mr. Villegas
Elementary School Principal

From Smyer ISD:
Smyer ISD is not handing out vouchers for the JV games, so spectators may pay at the gate to enter the gym for these games. However, they will not allow anyone in after they hit 185 individuals for these games. In order to get back into the gym for the varsity game, spectators must have a voucher before they can re-enter. If someone has a child playing on the JV team and Varsity team, they do not have to pay twice, but will need to be stamped/verified when attending the JV game. If you are only coming to the Varsity game, you can present your vouchers at the gate and then pay.
Again, without a voucher, individuals cannot enter for the Varsity level games.

Due to the continued COVID-19 outbreak among our school age children, Crosbyton CISD will begin Thanksgiving break tomorrow, November 19th. The final day of remote instruction for all students is today Wednesday, November 18th. All remote assignments for November 16th - 18th must be completed before school resumes on November 30th. According to the Department of State Health Services Superintendent’s briefing held on November 16th, large family gatherings are the leading cause of the current spread of the virus. Please continue to follow all safety protocols during this extended Thanksgiving break. We are looking forward to seeing everyone back at school on November 30th.

Elementary parents and guardians,
Every year the ladies in the cafeteria make a fabulous Thanksgiving meal where parents can come sit, eat and fellowship with their son(s) and daughter(s). Just a reminder, due to COVID restrictions, this year no parents or guardians are allowed to eat with their student(s) at this time.
Thank you,
Rene Villegas
Elementary School Principal

It is with profound sadness that we announce that Crosbyton CISD will not be in a position to host our Veteran's Day Assembly this year.
It now becomes a personal mission for each of us to reach out to our veterans to let them know how much we appreciate them. We pray that each of you will do just that.
Thank you Veterans. While we will be apart this Veterans Day, we will hold you dear in our hearts as we give thanks for your service and sacrifice.

Chieftain Nation,
Over the past several days we have seen an increase in COVID-19 positive cases in our community and secondary school. In response, the Crosbyton CISD custodial and maintenance staff has worked throughout the weekend to disinfect and deep clean our buildings. Our teachers and staff members will continue to require students to wear masks, and observe other measures to help prevent the spread of the virus during school hours.
We are asking that, as a community, you assist us in preventing the spread of this devastating virus. Please wear your mask in public places, and observe social distancing guidelines when you are with others outside of your immediate household. We also ask that when you have a student in your home that has been placed in quarantine that you keep them in your home as much as possible. If you allow these students to leave the house, and attend social gatherings with their peers you are placing others at risk of contracting the virus through close contact, and are defeating the purpose of the quarantine.
If the number of cases in our secondary school continues to rise at the current rate, we will have to consider closing the campus and placing the students in remote learning. We will use this as a last resort because we have learned through this semester that this is not a learning model that our students are successful with, and we fear they will regress academically. This will also cause all extracurricular activities to stop. This would include basketball for both the boys and girls, cross country, FFA, and band. Our students have put in a great deal of work into each of these activities, and we very much want them to be able to compete in the contests that they have been preparing for.
We will continue to follow the guidance from the Texas Education Agency, and the Department of State Health Services when we make decisions concerning COVID-19 cases at school, and we will do everything possible to mitigate the spread of the virus. We are asking you to join us in this effort to keep our students and community safe during these unprecedented times. By working together we can slow the spread of this virus, and allow our students to have a positive school experience.
Shawn Mason
Superintendent

Basketball season begins tomorrow for our girls teams as we take on Spur at 10:00 a.m. The spectator guidelines below have been developed to help mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We ask that you follow these guidelines when you attend basketball games at CHS to help protect the health of our student athletes.
1. Spectators will be screened for symptoms of COVID-19, or who have been in close contact with an individual who has been confirmed to have COVID-19.
2. Temperatures will be checked before entering the gym.
3. Everyone will be required to wear a face covering that covers the nose and mouth in the seating area of the gym.
4. A maximum of 50% occupancy will be maintained in the facility.
5. Visitor seating is located in the Northwest corner of the gym. Visiting teams will sit in the middle section on the West side of the gym.
6. Groups will maintain at least six feet of distance from other groups at all times. A group is defined as no more than 10 people including the members of the household and those who traveled together to the facility.
7. Consecutive row seating will not be allowed. Sit in only the designated areas.
8. At least six feet of distance should be maintained between individuals in and around concession and bathroom area. No food or drinks will be allowed in the main seating area of the gym.
9. Hand sanitizing stations will be located at the entrance, and concession area.
10. Participants will be separated from fans during entry and exit to the contest.
11. The gym and foyer must be vacated immediately after the conclusion of the final game.

The 2020 Agricultural Advocacy Team of Canyon Ware, Heavenly Vega, Shay Hollums and Alek Sandoval has had a busy week so far with one more competition on Saturday before they compete at district level.
On Tuesday, November 3rd, the team alongside Ms. Barbee traveled to Snyder ISD and competed against 7 other teams. They were awarded 1st place. This placing was very special for us because of COVID we were faced with last minute changes. The students stepped up to the plate and took on a new roll with less than a 48 hour notice.
On Wednesday, November 4th, the full team competed on campus through a new virtual style of contest. The competition was held by Tarleton State and there was 28 teams total in two heats. Our Crosbyton FFA Chapter came out in 4th place for their heat.
They have one more contest to compete in on Saturday 11/07, with Texas A&M University. We wish them the best of luck!

To comply with the guidance issued by the UIL we must limit the number of spectators in our gym to 50% capacity during the 2020 – 2021 basketball season. We have computed this capacity to be 128 home fans, and 70 visitors. To maintain these numbers, and ensure the parents of our student athletes have an opportunity to purchase tickets, we will be selling season passes for both the high school and middle school home basketball games. Students who have indicated that they will be participating in basketball were given a letter this afternoon with the details on purchasing season basketball tickets. A summary of this letter, and information on ticket for the general public are below.
High School Basketball
• Each ticket is $40.00
• Limit of 2 per family
• Families of high school players will have the opportunity to purchase tickets on November 2nd – 4th at the high school office. Office hours on Monday, November 2nd will be 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and 7:30 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. thereafter.

We have been in contact with Crosbyton City Officials regarding the power outage in town. We will make a decision to open or close school tomorrow at 6:00 am. If our electricity has been restored, we will begin school on-time at 8:00 am. In the event that we still do not have power, we will cancel school for the day.
The High School District Cross Country meet scheduled for 10:00 am tomorrow in Lamesa has been moved to 2:00 pm.
We thank you for your patience and are praying that you and your family are holding up well.

There is information going around that school has been canceled for Wednesday. That information is incorrect. We are currently on a two hour delay.
We will continue to monitor the weather and road conditions over night and tomorrow morning. If there are any additional changes, parents will receive a text message from the District and we will post information to our social media pages and website at www.crosbyton.k12.tx.us.

Due to the potential for additional snow/ice and poor driving conditions, all Crosbyton CISD campus start times will be delayed until 10:00 am tomorrow morning (Wednesday, October 28). A decision on buses running will be made in the morning. Faculty and Staff are asked to report to their campus Wednesday morning by 9:30 am to prepare for students' arrival.
We will continue to monitor the weather and road conditions over night and tomorrow morning. If there are any additional changes, parents will receive a text message from the District and we will post information to our social media pages and website at www.crosbyton.k12.tx.us.

As we continue to monitor the weather, we have a few reminders we want to share:
- In the event of a weather delay or cancellation, Crosbyton CISD will communicate the changes through a callout to parents and posts to the website and social media pages. We’ll also let our local media partners know so they can share the information on the news.
- What is a DELAY? In the event there is a delay, students would start school two hours later then their usual start time. Buses would also run two hours late on pavement only.
- What is a CANCELLATION? In the event of a cancellation, there would be no face-to-face or virtual instruction, and students and staff would have the day off. Crosbyton CISD Administration plans well in advance for bad weather days, and we have extra time built into the school calendar for days such as these. This means we would not activate remote learning for the bad weather days. This would allow our teachers to remain home, and parents would not have to worry about remote learning.
Please keep an eye out for updates. Once a decision has been made by the District, we will push out additional information.

Congratulations to the Chieftain Sound for their Division 1 rating at the Region 16 Marching Band Contest.

Students will be allowed to wear their Halloween Costumes to school next Friday. Below is a link to our Dress Code for Halloween Costumes. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to your campus principal.

In an effort to keep our students and staffulty safe, Crosbyton CISD will not be having large assemblies or gatherings until further notice. This includes pep-rallies. However, our cheerleaders will be having a virtual pep-rally today at 11:53 am. The link to the pep-rally will be posted on our social media accounts and website. #GoChiefs

The school year is off to a great start. The students are happy to be back in class, and the teachers are elated to see their students once again. Our entire staff is working extremely hard to keep our facilities clean and disinfected, and the students are doing a great job following our safety protocols. Both the disinfecting and the safety protocols are a vital part of our plan to keep our school open, and students attending class face-to-face.
We hope that this school year will be much better than last spring when many of our students missed out on their spring activities. It our goal to have a full year of sports, band, and other activities that make the student’s educational experience more enjoyable.
To achieve this goal, we are asking for your help as well. When you attend games and other activities at school, please follow the safety guidelines that we have in place. These are for your protection and the protection of our students. We also ask that you monitor your students when they are away from school to make sure that they are following the guidelines that have been put in place by our state government (wearing face coverings, maintaining social distance, no large gatherings). We have recently had several cases of COVID-19 in and around the Crosbyton community. If these cases continue to spread, they will eventually make their way into our school. If we have an active COVID-19 case on campus, we will follow the guidance provided by the Department of State Health Services (DSHS). These guidelines will most likely include placing anyone with close contact with an infected individual in quarantine for 14 days, and suspend sports and other extracurricular activities for up to 14 days.
It is extremely important that we work together as a community to mitigate the spread of the virus, and help our students have an uninterrupted school year. During the school shutdown last spring, our students lost a lot of ground academically, and the best way to overcome this shortfall is to have them in class. Please do your part to keep Crosbyton and our schools safe as we navigate this global pandemic.
Shawn Mason
Superintendent
Crosbyton CISD

Chieftain Nation,
Crosbyton CISD will be hosting two informational meetings for parents and students about our new remote learning program. If you selected remote instruction as your learning preference for this year, we ask that you attend one of these two meetings where we will discuss what you should expect going forward. Remote instruction will come with many new demands on teachers, students, and parents this year compared to what we experienced last spring. Our hope is to explain this information clearly, and to answer all your questions, so that you can make the most informed decision possible for you and your student.
The meeting dates/times are as follows: Friday, August 14th at 10:00 am or Monday, August 17th at 6:00 pm. All meetings will take place in the High School Auditorium. Masks will be required and social distancing will be observed at both meetings.
While we would encourage you to attend in person if at all possible due to the importance of the information being shared, a Zoom meeting link can also be shared.
Should you have any questions, please contact Hector Dominguez at hdominguez@crosbyton.k12.tx.us.

All livestock exhibitors need to plan on meeting at 6pm Monday August 17th at the Ag Shop. We will be filling out all the entry paperwork needed for the FAIRS. Masks are required. We will have another meeting for major shows at a later date.

Crosbyton CISD Virtual Learning Guidelines
The virtual learning model is different from the remote learning in the spring. The virtual model will be much more rigorous, and daily attendance will be required. Crosbyton CISD will use Google Classroom as our virtual learning platform. Students will be required to have a reliable internet connection, and a device capable of running the Google Classroom application.
Key aspects of the virtual learning model include:
• Students will be expected to follow the full instructional day plan according to the provided schedule. Elementary students will complete at least 180 minutes per day of instruction, and Secondary students will complete at least 240 minutes per day.
• Content learning and activities will be planned by the classroom teacher to make sure each student receives their full instructional minutes.
• Virtual Learning model may have a separate instructional design, but will use the same scope and sequence as Face-to-Face learning.
• The virtual learning assignments may look different, but they will cover the same content and skills as on-campus instruction.
• Learning opportunities will be personalized to meet individual needs of students that receive specialized services.
Students that choose to participate in virtual learning will be required to remain in virtual learning until the end of the grading period, and they waive participation and attendance in extracurricular activities.
Certain secondary elective courses will require attendance in face to face instruction. If a student chooses virtual learning, and is enrolled in one of these courses, the student will have to change their schedule.
Virtual learning will not be available for Pre-Kindergarten students.
If you have any questions concerning Virtual Learning, please contact your campus principal.

Registration packets for all CCISD students will be available from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on Wednesday, August 5th and Thursday, August 6th.
Only the individual required to register a student should come. You can fill out the packet on site or take it home and return it by Friday, August 7th. You can pick up registration packets from the appropriate campus office.
Please remember to wear your mask when coming into school buildings. #GoChiefs

Crosbyton CISD is searching for a building custodian. Applications are available in the Superintendent's office at 204 S. Harrison.

The UIL is presenting modifications to the 2020-2021 UIL calendar and updated COVID-19 risk mitigation guidelines, set to take effect August 1, 2020.
The modifications to the 2020-2021 calendar differ by activity and conference and can be found on the UIL website and in the chart below. These adjustments reflect the public health situation at this time and the varying numbers of COVID-19 cases across different geographic areas of the state. This plan provides a delay for schools in highly-populated metro areas, primarily conferences 5A-6A, given the challenges with COVID-19 those communities are facing, while providing schools in other areas, primarily 1A-4A, an opportunity to start seasons on schedule. Acknowledging the situation is not always clear-cut and that COVID-19 affects every community differently, the plan also allows for local flexibility and encourages districts to plan for possible interruptions in order to complete district seasons.
Additionally, the COVID-19 risk mitigation guidelines for the 2020-2021 school year can be found at the link below. This includes guidance around face coverings, general operations and protocol for individuals confirmed or exposed to COVID-19, congregate settings (band halls, locker rooms, etc.), practice and rehearsal activities, spectators and media, and concession stands and food service.
These guidelines are in addition to guidance issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and intended to be implemented along with TEA guidance, which applies to UIL academic activities and extracurricular non-UIL activities.
Crosbyton CISD will continue to work with state officials and monitor CDC and other federal guidance to determine any potential modifications that may become necessary.

When school resumes on August 17th, Crosbyton CISD will be offering a variety of instructional options
for our students and families. Students will have the option to attend classes in our buildings, or
remotely from their homes. Remote instruction will be online only, no paper packets will be sent home.
Below is a brief summary of options that will be offered. We are working on the details of each option
and will have a final plan in place prior to the start of school. Starting August 10th, we will be contacting
families to ask each student to commit to in-class or remote instruction. If a student chooses remote
instruction he/she will be required to stay in that placement until the end of the first six-week grading
period. Students may enter remote instruction at any time; however, they can only return to in-class
instruction at the end of a grading period.
Crosbyton CISD is also developing new Safety and Cleaning Guidelines for the students that will be
attending classes in our buildings. These guidelines are being developed to prevent the virus from
entering the school, respond to lab confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the school, and mitigate the
likelihood of COVID-19 spreading inside the school. Once finalized, these guidelines will be released the
first week in August.
Instructional Options
On Campus Instruction
• In school classrooms
• Follow all enhanced safety guidelines and procedures
• Daily health checks
• Eligible for all extracurricular activities
• 90% Attendance rule is in effect
Remote Instruction – Two Options
Synchronous Instruction
• Realtime remote instruct in each class period via Zoom
• Assignments posted to Google Classroom
Asynchronous Instruction
• Instruction delivered through video, phone, or Zoom
• Assignments posted to Google Classroom
Both remote plans will require:
• 100% on-line learning at home
• Reliable internet
• Daily attendance and assignments. Day will mirror the on-campus school day
• No extracurricular activities or school events
• 90% attendance rule in effect

ALL students will need to have up to date vaccinations to be able to attend school for the 2020-2021 school year regardless of in class or remote learning.
Please do not wait until the last minute. If you have any questions about your child’s vaccinations, please do not hesitate to contact Nurse Thomas at 675-7331 ext. 1222.

We are excited to announce we will be starting summer workouts tomorrow, July 13th at 6:30 pm. Please be aware that you will be required to wear a mask while checking in and leaving the workouts.

Crosbyton families, UIL has just released new guidance for our summer practices including requirements for face coverings.
All staff, parents, visitors, and students age ten and older must wear a face covering when entering and exiting facilities or practice areas where UIL activities are being conducted and when they're not actively exercising or practicing.
This means Crosbyton students participating in our summer UIL activities must have a face covering when we resume practices and workouts on Monday, July 13. This includes athletics, band, and cheer.
You can read more about the new UIL requirements here: https://www.uiltexas.org/covid-19-information

Crosbyton CISD is planning to have students and staff return to school buildings in August. However, we know that a portion of our families may have concerns about returning to school due to COVID-19.
We are continuing to receive guidance from the Texas Education Agency regarding virtual schooling. The requirements for virtual school are significantly more demanding on students daily participation and completion of work at home, as compared to this past spring. Based on these new requirements, we have started discussions about how we will prepare for school and at home instruction.
Once we learn more about the options for starting school in August, we will communicate our plans to all the stakeholders at Crosbyton CISD.

All students who are actively participating in livestock shows and students 9+ who are possibly interested in livestock shows please fill out the form in the link below. Governor Abbott has announced that Texas Public Schools will remain closed through April 30,2020. Crosbyton CISD will continue to provide instruction through paper packets and Google classroom. We are in the process of developing other resources for our students to use, and these will be announced soon.

On Tuesday, March 31 the teachers and staff of Crosbyton CISD will begin working remotely. Please email all homework and instructional questions directly to your student’s teacher. All other questions are to be submitted to our administrative team. All staff emails are available on the district’s website, www.crosbyton.k12.tx.us. Staff members will be available from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm Monday through Friday, and we will observe the holidays listed on the District’s calendar.
Paper packets will continue to be available each Friday for pickup, and drop off. The location for both the Elementary and Secondary distribution will change. Information on this change will be sent out later this week.
Lunch will continue to be provided from 11:00 – 1:00 Monday through Friday outside of the south entrance of the cafeteria.
We thank you for your patience as we continue to work through this disruption to your child’s education. We will make every effort to provide the best education possible during this unprecedented health emergency.

Happy First Day of Remote Learning!
Google Classroom Codes for MS and HS Students will be posted at 9:00 am.
Paper packets for Elementary students can be picked up from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Elementary School.
All Secondary students can pick up their packets at the High School from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your campus principal.

Crosbyton CISD has opened a WiFi network for student use that is accessible from most school parking lots. To access this service click on the "Guest" network in your menu options for available networks. This network will restrict access to some websites.
When using this connection, we ask that students remain in their vehicle, or maintain at least a 10 feet distance between individuals if you leave your vehicle.

Crosbyton CISD will begin food service for all children ages 1 – 18 on Monday, March 23. A free Breakfast and lunch will be served at the same time from 10:00 – 12:00 Monday – Friday for the duration of the school closure. We will serve these meals on the south side of the cafeteria by bringing the meals to your car when you approach the cafeteria door. The children receiving the meals must be in the car with you. This is a requirement of the Texas Department of Agriculture. Students who walk to the cafeteria to receive a meal will be served outside of the same door; however, they will not be able to enter the cafeteria or other school facilities to eat the meal. If you plan on taking advantage of these free meals, please email coronavirus@crosbyton.k12.tx.us before Monday morning with the number of children in your home that plan on participating. This is not a requirement, but it will help our cafeteria staff prepare the appropriate amount of food.

UIL games and contests will resume no earlier than Monday, May 4th. Prior to that date, to allow students and schools to reenter competition, UIL will provide a reasonable acclimatization period for rehearsals and practices to occur, consistent with the advice of local, state and federal officials. We will reevaluate the beginning dates for practices and rehearsals as we receive more information about schools resuming.

Crosby County Parents,
As our county school districts navigate the unprecedented circumstances involving COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and the need for social distancing, we remain committed to the safety and health of our school communities.
Superintendents Mason, Morrison, and Wade in accordance with an order issued by Governor Abbott have closed each county school district through April 3. Arrangements are being made to continue to provide breakfast and lunch to all our students. Meal service times, and directions for food pickup will be released later this week.
The teaching staff of each district will be working early next week to prepare remote learning lessons for all our students. These lessons will be provided electronically, or through paper packets. A teacher or staff member will be contacting you next week to determine which option best serves your student’s educational needs during this time of closure.
Thank you for your understanding and flexibility during this time of great unknown. As a Crosby County family, we will work together for the best interests of our school communities.

Update from UIL:
At this time, all rehearsals, practices and workouts conducted outside the school day are postponed until March 29. This means that no rehearsals, practices or workouts outside the school day can be conducted during the time period of March 16 through March 29.
For all the latest updates, please visit: https://www.frenship.net/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=1693305&type=d&pREC_ID=1850856

To support the health and safety of our students and communities, the University Interscholastic League (UIL) is suspending all UIL sanctioned contests due to the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in Texas. Effective March 16, all UIL interscholastic competition is suspended through March 29.
Rehearsals and practices may be held at the discretion of the local school district. There are no current reported cases of COVID-19 in Crosbyton so practices will continue as scheduled.
As this is a fluid situation, the UIL will continue to follow the direction of state and local officials to monitor this situation and will make additional announcements as needed.
Please continue to check our website and social media accounts for further updates.

Statement Regarding COVID – 19
The top priority of Crosbyton ISD, Lorenzo ISD, and Ralls ISD is providing a safe environment for our students, staff and families. We understand there are health concerns over the recent outbreak of respiratory illness caused by the new coronavirus called COVID-19.
The Crosby County school districts are closely monitoring the situation and tracking information provided by local, state and national healthcare providers. Administrators are also in daily contact with community partners, state and national healthcare agencies, as well as, Texas Education Agency. Currently, there is NO indication of an immediate threat to Crosby County communities.
No classes have been canceled in our school districts and classes will resume on March 23rd after Spring Break unless otherwise mandated by the Texas Education Agency, Centers for Disease Control Prevention (CDC), or the Texas Commissioner of Education. These decisions are based on emphasizing facts over fear, and relying on credible sources for information.
During spring break, all three districts will heighten the level of cleaning at all campuses in preparation for the return of students and staff on March 23rd. We encourage families planning on traveling during the break to visit the CDC website for important information on traveling domestically and internationally.
Thank you for the support of our three districts. We are committed to maintaining the safety and health of our students, staff and their families.
Have a safe, restful and healthy Spring Break.

We want to encourage everyone to attend our athletic contest and to cheer for our Chieftains when they compete on the court. When you attend our games, you help us build a culture of "Together We Are Stronger" and your cheering adds an element of excitement for our student athletes, However, just as contests could not exist without rules, and just as the players have to abide by rules on the court, you too have to follow the rules in the stands. The guidelines below were implemented during the 2018-2019 basketball season and will continue this year.
* Please do not disrespect or degrade others in any way.
* Understand that student athletes will make mistakes and no participant should be ridiculed at any time because of their efforts.
* Respect the decisions of the officials.
* Home seating is on the East side of the Gym; Visitors will sit in the West stands.
* The Northwest section of the stands will be reserved for CCISD students.
* The Northwest section will also be used for overflow seating when needed. The game administrator will determine when this is necessary.
* When special circumstances arise, individuals may wish to sit with out of town family members. Please inform the game administrator when this occurs.
* Finally, you are a guest of our school and should act like one. Winning is an admirable goal of competition, but it is nothing if it comes at the expense of morals, ethics, and common sense.
Should you have any questions about our guidelines for our basketball season, please contact CHS Principal, Hector Dominguez at hdominguez@crosbyton.k12.tx.us or at (806) 675-7331.
