Our students would like to invite parents and guardians on Thursday, March 26th at 7:30 am to Yogurt, Chiefs and You! As we head into the busy spring we want to take a moment to spend time with you, our parents, and thank you for what you do for our students everyday.

Tomi Zermeno visits third grade for the second time building a lifelong skill, sewing. Students previously made a valentine keychain for their backpacks. Today, in conjunction with Dr. Seuss, students made a Cat in the Hat bookmark and practiced stitching by hand. The kids were so engaged and many stated they had discovered a new hobby that is very satisfying. A special thank you to Mr. Rodriguez for stopping by to say hello.

Information will be sent home with students Monday after spring break.

Congratulations to the following PAX leaders!
Fox-
In the land of the school, where the big thinkers play,
There’s a student named Fox who is leading the way!
With a leap and a bound and a zoom and a zip,
His reading has taken a two-grade-level trip.
He conquers the math with a whiz and a bang,
The smartest young Fox of the whole clever gang.
A scientist, too! With his seeds in the dirt,
He grows a green garden with nary a spurt.
But Fox is a PAX leader, honest and true,
Even when choices are tricky to do.
If a prank goes too far, or he’s teasing a bit,
He doesn't just hide or decide to go quit.
He cares for his teacher, he’s kind to the core,
He says, "I am sorry," then thinks even more.
Oh, the places you’ll go with that brain in your head!
Keep growing, dear Fox, just like you’ve said!
Sofia H
In the town of Grade Two, in a chair by the light,
Young Sofia H is reading each Saturday night!
(And Sunday and Monday and Tuesday nights, too,
She reads every book from the old to the new!)
When the sun pops up bright and it’s time for the day,
She has all her pencils and folders—hooray!
She doesn't lose papers or wander about,
She’s ready to learn, of that there’s no doubt.
She listens so well with her ears and her heart,
Of all of the students, Sofia is smart!
A reader! A leader! A star through and through,
Oh, the wonderful things that Sofia will do!
Sofia S
In the land of the classroom, a scholar we know,
With her books in her bag and a sparkle in tow.
Sofia S arrives with her pencils all set,
The readiest student you’ve ever met!
Every night by the light of a flickering lamp,
She’s a reading magician, a literacy champ!
While numbers and math make her stop for a blink,
She tries her quite best, though they make her brain think.
Now, she might pull a face or a "school is no fun" sigh,
With a look in her eye that is clever and sly.
She pretends that her teacher is someone to tease,
But she likes them a lot, and she does it with ease!
If you give a reminder, she’s quick to be kind,
The most respectful helper that you’ll ever find.
So hooray for Sofia! She’s bright as can be,
A reader, a leader, as all can see!
