August 21, 2020
In keeping with Crosbyton CISD’s practices to respond to COVID-19, we are notifying all student families that a student who was lab-confirmed to have COVID-19 was last present on the campus of Crosbyton Secondary School on August 18, 2020. Due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing the name of the individual or details that may identify him or her. The student did not test positive until two days after they were last on our campus.
The Department of State Health Services (DSHS) does not believe that a 14-day quarantine is necessary since the student has not been on campus for two days prior to the positive test. DHSH will continue to investigate this case. If they determine that close contact has occurred, all students and staff that came into close contact will be notified immediately.
While we do not have reason to believe that the student was infected while at school we ask that you, as always, to watch for symptoms of COVID-19.
Any of the following symptoms indicate a possible COVID-19 infection:
If your member of the Crosbyton Secondary community does begin experiencing any of these symptoms in a way that his not typical, we encourage you to contact your physician. We encourage anyone in the Crosbyton Secondary community who is lab-confirmed to have COVID-19 to please notify our school by contacting Hector Dominguez at 806-675-7331.
